Translating books, so every story can find its reader.
Ailaysa is an award-winning AI platform for translating books and long-form content. We help publishers, authors, translators, and editors produce publishing-ready translations in over 100 languages, quickly and at a fraction of the traditional cost.
Any book written in any language by any author from anywhere must be read by any reader anywhere in the world in their language of choice.
”Most of the world's books never reach readers beyond their own language. The reason is rarely quality. Translation has simply been too slow and too expensive for most titles to justify. We are changing that math—helping to keep global literature alive and accessible across every language.
Decades of Publishing Expertise Meets the Future of AI
Ailaysa wasn’t just built in a tech lab—it was born from our founders' 30 years of experience in the trenches of publishing, traditional translation, and machine learning. We set out to create a system capable of "deep translation for books," bringing AI, editorial tools, collaborative workspaces, and human expertise into one unified platform.
What you publish is yours: your content, your glossaries, your style, never used to train our models.
From language technology to a global publishing platform.

Early years
Ailaysa began as an AI-powered localization platform for language professionals and enterprises.

2021
we turned our focus to the global publishing industry, pioneering AI for book translation and building specialised products such as Chai Reader.

2026
Ailaysa was named a Laureate of the International Publishers Association's Innovation in Publishing Award, and was shortlisted for the Digital Publishing Award in the Product / Business Model category.
Intelligence Without Borders
Geography doesn't matter. While Ailaysa is headquartered in Chennai, India, the language intelligence we develop is powered by hundreds of language and publishing experts from around the world.

A word from the sea.
Ailaysa comes from the traditional work songs of Tamil fishermen on South India's Coromandel coast. They sing it as they haul their nets together. The word carries the spirit of working side by side and lifting one another. That is how we think about AI and people, and about publishers and readers across languages.
